DIFF DROPS

Diff drops: look after your CVs after a lift

On a 4WD with independent front suspension, lifting the car lifts the body and front diff while the wheels stay on the ground. That puts the front CV joints and drive shafts at a steeper angle. A diff drop kit lowers the front diff to bring that angle back down, so your CVs and boots last longer.

Signs you might need one

  • Your IFS vehicle has a suspension lift and no diff drop

  • You hear clicking from the front end on tight turns

  • CV boots are splitting or leaking grease

  • You hear vibration or noise from the front when accelerating in 4WD

Suits

IFS 4WDs and utes such as the LandCruiser 200 and 300, Prado, HiLux, Ranger, Everest, D-Max, BT-50 and MU-X. Solid front axle vehicles, like the LandCruiser 70 Series, don't need one.

What we fit

We fit a range of proven diff drop kits, plus our own in-house kits, and match the kit to your vehicle and lift height.

Why fit it with your suspension

  • Done in one visit: fitted with your lift, GVM kit or upper control arms.

  • Matched to your lift: we'll tell you whether your lift height calls for a diff drop.

  • Kept legal: we keep your total lift within Victoria's limits for off-road 4WDs.
